Position Summary:

The Chief Executive Officer CEO plays a significant and key role in leading, promoting and marketing Blue Stone Strategy Partners, including service offerings and overseeing business development strategies. The CEO Is expected to grow the organization, including overall efforts to strengthen the company's industry position and achieve desired business and financial goals. The CEO works with the Executive Team to oversee the ongoing operations of all service offerings and service divisions, leveraging assistance from the Board of Directors, and Executive Team to direct the company towards its vision, mission, goals, and objectives. As the top leadership personality of Blue Stone Strategy Partners, the CEO is expected to represent the brand and company culture to the board, executive team and staff, Tribal Advisors, professional peers, contacts, as well as current and potential clients.

Core Duties and Responsibilities:

The Chief Executive Officer will be involved in a variety of tasks in all areas of Blue Stone's business activities. These tasks will generally be:

  • Continue as a driven leader in Indian Country with a passion to support our Tribal Partners in building stronger economies and communities
  • Works with the BSSP Board and other BSSP Executive Team to establish organizational short-term objectives and long-range goals
  • Demonstrates strong public speaking and presentation skills
  • Reviews the financial results of all operations, working to reach the company's financial annual goals and identified objectives by taking appropriate measures to correct unsatisfactory performance and results when recognized
  • Oversees the company's financial structure, ensuring adequate and sound funding for the mission and established goals
  • Negotiate with other business entities where appropriate, including business activities such as acquisitions and/or joint ventures
  • Identifies and reviews viability of potential business opportunities
  • Become an expert in marketing Blue Stone Strategy's value proposition and services and where they are best positioned within the Indian Country marketplace
  • Establish professional relationships with Tribal Leaders and create credibility and business development references and opportunities
  • Travel to business development and project meetings, industry conferences, trade shows, etc.
  • Oversees the direction of the business development pipeline and all service divisions
  • Gather industry-relevant data to assist in business development, marketing, and public relations to aid in growing the Blue Stone brand and delivery of services
  • Gather and track research and data about relevant current events in Indian County and distribute and share information with the Blue Stone Team, recommending areas and product lines that need to be developed and/or fostered for successful integration
  • Provide Ideas and work with executive team to develop thought leadership, articles, press releases, website content and other Blue Stone communications
  • Work with Executive team on brand management and services marketing, including press lists, press releases, blog releases, bio writing, website monitoring, and event coordination and planning
  • Coordinate weekly and ongoing business development activities
  • Work with Board of Directors and Executive Team to continually confirm the Vision of Blue Stone Strategy Partners through consistency in decision-making within the company and throughout Indian Country
  • Acts as a liaison between the Board and staff
  • Participate directly on a diverse set of projects

  • Strong working knowledge of Google applications such as Gmail, Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides
  • Ability to work independently and also in a team setting, with the ability to self-manage time and ensure deadlines are met with efficiency and high quality
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Knowledge of project management and time allocation to ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget
  • Strong knowledge of cultural impacts of Federal and State regulations and laws on Tribes within Indian Country
  • Demonstrated abilities in strategic planning, economic development, governance, workforce development or other key area of Blue Stone's service offerings
  • Cultural awareness and respect for the Sovereignty of American Indian Nations/Tribes, Hawaiian Natives, and Alaskan Native Tribes/Corporations
  • Strong public speaking skills and persuasion skills with the ability to gain consensus from those who may be on differing sides of an issue

Education And Experience:

Required

  • Previous elected or executive leadership role within an American Indian Tribe Ex. Chairman, Governor, CEO, or Tribal Council
  • Visibility and established relationships in Indian Country
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university

Preferred

  • Master's Degree from an accredited university Ex. MBA, MPA, MSW
  • Native American Professional
