Dr. Maureen Wimsatt

Subject Matter Expert

Dr. Maureen Wimsatt, PhD, MSW is a data analyst subject matter expert for Blue Stone Strategy Group. Dr. Wimsatt has 20 years of experience supporting research, evaluation, and community-based programs for health, mental health, and community development. She has been working with Tribal communities, Alaska Native villages, urban Indian organizations, and other American Indian/Alaska Native-serving agencies since 2008. She was the Director of the California Tribal Epidemiology Center within the California Rural Indian Health Board from 2015-2018.

Dr. Wimsatt is currently the Principal for the Center for Healthy Children and Communities, Inc. (CHCC), a consulting firm supporting organizations doing community-based planning, research, and evaluation. Dr. Wimsatt is trained in both quantitative and qualitative research and analysis, as well as in writing for professional and community audiences. Dr. Wimsatt teaches graduate-level epidemiology and research methods courses for both the University of New England Graduate Program in Public Health and California State University Sacramento Division of Social Work.

Dr. Wimsatt received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Statistics from the University of Michigan, a Master of Social Work degree with emphasis on rural social work practice from Eastern Washington University, and Doctorate degree in Human Development and Quantitative Methodology (Child Development focus) from the University of Maryland.
