Senior Project Manager
A member of the Navajo Nation, Thompson is of the Wandering People clan and born for the Towering House clan. She grew up immersed in a second culture on the Tohono O’odham community of San Xavier in Tucson, Arizona.
Since beginning work with Blue Stone in 2014, Thompson assisted over 45 Tribal Nations and Tribal organizations across the country through various projects related to strategic planning, casino operational efficiency studies, recruitment and compensation studies, community outreach, enterprise operational assessments, and housing technical assistance.
Thompson has a unique eye when it comes to developing solutions for Tribal communities. In her role with Blue Stone, she brings her ability to understand the uniqueness of Tribal cultures, communicate with Tribal communities, and to provide data enabling Leadership to make knowledgeable decisions. Thompson assists in project delivery and coordination, production of business development proposals, synthesizing data and analyzing trends, and identifying opportunities to strengthen Tribal sovereignty as well as providing overall support to project teams.
In her work prior to Blue Stone, Thompson worked as a Tribal Partnership Specialist for the U.S. Census Bureau assigned to each of the Eight Northern Pueblos of New Mexico. She served as a Tribal Liaison and worked with the Tribal governors and their departmental leaders to facilitate community events and develop outreach strategies. Thompson has also served as a Mentor to young Native students participating in the Native American Finance Officers Association Summer Business Institute at Dartmouth College.
She graduated with a B.A. in Native American Studies from Dartmouth College which included course work in Native American History, Environmentalism in Indian Country, American Indian Law, and Native American Philosophy. Her research at Dartmouth included Tribal sovereignty and solving the challenges faced by Tribes with diverse geographies. She also has completed non-degree courses in Project Management, Marketing, Accounting, Human Resources, Interpersonal Business Communications, and Entrepreneurship through both Central New Mexico Community College and Strayer University.
