Aisha Abedi, MPH

Aisha Abedi, MPH, was born in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Africa, and grew up in Yuma, Arizona. In 2014, Abedi earned dual degrees, a Bachelor of Science in Public Health and a Bachelor of Arts in French, from the University of Arizona. She used her degrees to support refugees, especially those who were French-speaking, at the International Rescue Committee in Tucson, Arizona, and coordinated several programs to facilitate access to health for communities in Washington State.

In 2018, Abedi graduated from the University of Washington with a Master of Public Health degree in Community-Oriented Public Health Practice. Upon graduation Abedi was selected for a competitive fellowship to assist with monitoring and evaluations of Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Field Epidemiology Training Programs around the world, working closely with West-African communities. 

Abedi has focused her public health work on strengthening the health workforce and monitoring and evaluation for the health and education industries and has many interests that center on anti-racist efforts and strategies to address equity gaps.
