Chairman / CEO
Jamie Fullmer is dedicated to a powerful belief – that clear vision guides the leadership and development essential to fueling strong Tribal communities now and into the future. Fullmer founded Blue Stone Strategy Group to provide business and strategy advisory services in “Indian Country” to Tribal leadership, Tribal enterprises, and corporate entities working with Tribes. The company’s primary focus is on sound analysis and strategic planning for protecting Tribal sovereignty, economic growth and stability.
Fullmer served two terms as Chairman of the Yavapai-Apache Nation. While in office he initiated strategic planning efforts supporting action steps for sustainability through economic development and diversification, education, fiscal planning, and community development. This resulted in increasing productivity and efficiency while maintaining members’ services. He also initiated long-term planning to ensure the financial stability of the tribe for generations to come.
Fullmer earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Southern Utah University and his Masters of Social Work degree from the University of Utah. Fullmer began his career in the insurance industry and also spent six years in the mental health industry providing mental health treatment services and crisis intervention. In 2000, he returned to his homeland to become the Yavapai-Apache Nation’s Director of Health and Human Services prior to being elected as the Chairman, and was instrumental in starting his Nation’s health center and housing infrastructure development.
Fullmer’s focus reaches far beyond his own people; he has served as president of the Inter-Tribal Council of Arizona, and he is currently on the board Chairman of Northern Arizona University President’s Native American Advisory Board; A board member of Native Land Capital, and Verde Valley Regional Economic Organization (VVREO), supporting regional economic development in Arizona’s Verde Valley.
In June 2007, the National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development (NCAIED) honored Fullmer with the First American Tribal Leadership Award, which recognizes outstanding leadership and contributions to American Indian economic and business development.
